Today's Discussion 10/26

After reading the Wal-Mart article last week I was 100 percent for the new uniform change. But today after our class discussion it altered my view on the new uniforms. When drawing out the "smock" and the polo outfit, I though there were a lot more positive results towards the company. The meaning of the smocks was to resemble customer service, team work, and simplicity for customers. With the phrase "how may I help you?" on the back, it resembles customer service. This allows customers to identify workers if they need help while shopping. The smock also resembles a "team" because everyone is wearing the same thing and all the workers are there to put you, the customer, first. Finally with a simple smock it shows the customers that you are in a simple, easy-going environment. After looking at these points I feel as if the uniform change would not be needed.
